DEM2: "The percentage of patients diagnosed with dementia whose care has been reviewed in the previous 15 months"

It is not clear what the assessment involves but I suspect it will need to be done in primary care and to be similar in scope to the mental health review but with an emphasis on social care and perhaps a MMSE. I see a protocol being needed here to support any claim next year. Anyone got one or working on one?

Has anyone any other 2006 protocols they have come up with they could share?

Hi Pruritus.

I am just tackling the same thing myself and I thought I'd check on this forum for any info and found your post! I was wondering if you had discovered any more?

Thanks
Steve

Hi There

The Dementia is screened through your routine over 75 check-up. There are few basic questions that nurses or GPs ask to establish the cognitive state of the patient.

Been a while since I was last here. The few numbers of true dements in my single handed practice have not justified too much time or thought ;-)

Had my QOF 2006 review and no problems and comments on dementia.

As for 75yr+ checks. That was a Kenneth Clarke special. Anyone still doing them.... for no money?
