I'm wondering if we have coded our depressed patients incorrectly for some time now. We have many showing up in our mental health register because they have been coded as E112% or E113% maybe many years ago. However, they do not have a psychosis as such and so a current care plan is not appropriate. What is everyone else doing with this?

Hi Carol
Try using H/O depression for those who no longer have psychosis

I have worked my way through the patients and read codes them again individually - long process but well worth it in the end as it only has to be done the once .... good luck

We too have checked coding on all out patients. Takes a while but left us with a very manageable and accurate register.:)
